Shilo Sue Bryan

This is just after Shilo was born as 10:21 and weighed 7lbs. 8oz. and was 20 3/4 inches long. I ended up having Pitocin which didn't make things any easier but it did go faster so that is always a plus. W stayed the night at the birthing center and left first thing in the morning. Jared has been really great at taking care of me
Shilo has alot of hair as you can see and is a good baby for the most part she sleeps alot though.
Gracie absolutley loves her sister baby that is what she calls her and the boys really love her too they always want to hold her and fight over it. When Harlan first saw her he said "oh she has a little nose". Emery likes to come up and say hello baby over and over again and he especially loves to give her kisses. It is really cute how he does it he put his mouth on her and says mwah he really cracks me up.
This is Shilo getting a sponge bath which she did not like the girl does not like her clothes to be removed or her diaper for that matter but we have to do it alot because she goes alot especially #2 it is amazing the nurse said we should have her write a book to teach other newborns how to do it because she does it so well. All in all we are doing well with our new addition and she is of course the queen of the castle right now. and luckily is a very good baby.

Last Thursday we had the missionaries over for dinner and for some reason I was not feeling to up to it maybe it was the little cough I had any way after that my cough got progressively worse and I ended up going to sleep feeling pretty rotten and not sleeping well due to all the coughing. All day Friday I felt awful and finally on Saturday I called my doctor and she called in a prescription for me which really didn't kick in until sunday night which is the first night of good rest I have had in days not to much coughing. My brother informed me I sounded like roz off of Monster's inc but this morning I am feeling marginally better which means I don't feel like laying on the couch and sleeping all day. Harlan and Gracie both have coughs to and Harlan has had a fever which I had too but is gone now for both of us Emery and Jared are the only ones not really sick but Emery keeps begging for medicine. I am really trying to get better before the baby comes which really could be any day now. I am really looking forward to not coughing anymore coughing and very pregnant women don't mix well.

Baby progress

I forgot to tell you haw I am doing we are at 37 and a half weeks and the baby is no longer breech yeah I got her to move in fact me doctor did a little dance when she saw that she had turned she is very enthusiastic. I did test positive for Group B strep though so it makes things a little different all in all I am having some contractions and lots of pressure and everyone keeps telling me the baby will come early which really means she will be late and I will be frustrated but she can come at anytime because I am far enough along to have her in the birthing center like I want

Jared's Birthday cake he had a really good birthday becuase he didn't have to work and got to go to church but then President Hinckley died on his birthday so that kind of put a damper on things but all in all a good day. We had Sher and D.J. and kids over and it was nice to have them

Emery got a new truck that he can ride on or push around. He really likes it and so does every one else the kids have had more than one fight over it
Emery wanted Elme or Melmo as he calls him on his cake it was fun and turned out all right it didn't want to come out of the pan so I left it in all in all it was a fun birthday for him even though chruch was cancelled becuase of the snow we got and still have in fact it snowed early this morning so Jared had to cancel all his chimney cleaning appointments. It's hard to clean when there is snow on the roof
The other day I combed Harlans hair for school and you can't really tell in the picture but it kind of spikes up in front and when he looked in the mirror he said" Wow Rock and Roll hair". Which really cracked me up so I had to take a picture and show you all his rock and roll hair

These are the pajamas I made for the kids for Christmas they turned out really good I especially like Emery's.
We had a ton of snow last week which we really enjoyed and has unfortunately mostly all melted but the kids had alot of fun in it and so did we.



We ended up cancelling our FHE with the spanich family because the power went out at about 4:00 and didn't come back on until about 7:00. Apparently a cat had climbed into a transformer to get warm and the result was that 12,000 homes lost power. We did have the Spanish family come over this last Monday and I think that it went pretty well I felt out of the loop alot because I didn't know what was being said but I think I did alright and this inspires me to learn more Spanish. Fortunately for my kids their only son Alex speaks English fluently and is only a year and half older than Harlan so the get along really good. Last night we took a long drive out to a house that Jared had cleaned the chimney on to dliverer some creosoot destroyer and for those who don't know creosoot is stuff that builds up in your chimney and doesn't come off unless you spray the afore mentioned chemical on your wood when you burn. I t was a nice dreive but I probably would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't been dark when we went but all in all not a bad time.

Snow

It is snowing hurray this is not the first snow but the others have been skiffs I hope it stays because I love snow and my kids want a chance to play in it we will see if the weather cooperates.
Gracie has been sick with a cold and her eyes have been all red and goopy and I feared she might have an eye infection so I took her in the doctor said it was probably just a cold in her eyes but gave me some medicine just in case.
Jared has been teaching the kids all about noogies and how to give them and it has been really funny to see Emery do and say it. I think I like the way he says it best of all. None of them do it hard enough to hurt or anything it is just cute to see it



so guess who got a hold of my camera and decided to take pictures of each other I had to erase most of the ones of Harlan as he was going to the bathroom at the time we are working on the whole issue of privacy it is not going as well as I would hope. Today Harlan goes back to school and he is very excited, he has been begging for weeks to go again. We are having company over for dinner and family night tonight they only speak spanish so this should be interesting and I hope everything goes well but we will see

I know it has been forever since I have posted but I have been very busy making tons of stuff for Christmas. And I am a little dissappointed in myself because I really didn't get any pictures of christmas I still need to get some of the kids in the jammies I made. I also need to get some of Gracies Christmas dress and cape and the dress I made for my brother's wedding which was on the 21st. And we got a wonderful surprise when Jake and Julie and kids showed up unexpected on christmas eve and stayed the night. And of course I had to make all the christmas goodies which included several pumpkin rolls, poppy seed bread ( a christmas tradition in my family, zucchini bread. cherry cheese braid another tradition, fudge, peanut brittle, carmel two kinds, cream fondant, peanut butter balls. cordial cherries, almond joys, and almond roca and of course cookies for santa. The pictures are of our christmas tree, the gingerbread house i made all from scratch, and a centerpiece a customer at work gave Jared it was very sweet of her. My kids made out like bandits on christmas morning that is what Jared said anyway and all in all it was a nice day with breakfast with Jake and Julie and dinner at Sheridans and D.J.'s it was all very good and their has been way too much good food around my house. The picture of Gracie is when she decided she wanted to comb her own hair and had to twist her hair up in the comb I was very tempted to just cut is out but Jared and I persevered and got it out. Oh the other picture is of the insert jared installed and I helped bring into the house the thing weighs at least three hundred pounds. It has been heating our house very well and hopefully saving some money on our gas bill. My Parents came for new years and watched the kids during the day on the 31st while we went out for our anniversary (which is on the 28th) jared had tickets the the Humanitarian bowl and we stayed until halftime and left because we were so cold and we knew Fresno state was going to win which they did. We did bring blankets and everything but it was still really cold. He then took me out to eat at a place called big Jud's where they have Hamburgers as big as a plate it was yummy and very filling. We had tons of snacks for new years wich there is still plenty left and on New year's day we had a Turkey dinner but my parents had already left so we had to try and eat it all by ourselves needless to say ther is alot of leftovers. Hopefully now that the holidays are over we can get back to real life. Harlan starts preschool again on the 7th and he is very excited to go again. Jared and D.J. also split a whole bunch of wood for us to burn and it is greatly appreciated because we were completly out for several days before that now I just have to remember to keep putting the wood in. I hope everyone had a wonderful holidays and hopefully I can start posting better
