Shilo's checkup and Harlan's progress

Shilo had her two month appointment yesterday and it was interesting because I took all 4 of the kids with me they didn't do too bad but it is never easy to get them all in and out of the car. Shilo our little chunk now weighs 11lbs. 8oz. what a big girl she is and she is 22 1/4 inches long. We decided to put her in this study for a meningitis vaccine Emery was also part of it and this is the second trial they had great results with the first. She also got three shots the poor thing her little legs were very sensitive were she got her shots she cried when ever we accidently bumped or touched them. Harlan has been going to pre-school since December and he has made leaps and bounds he is improving alot. He is very proud of how well he can write his name now and is always writing it for me and he wants to know how everybody else spells their name and what letter it starts with. All the Language and occupational therapy he has gotten has really made a difference and they are going to continue it when he gets into kindergarten so that is great especially since the school provides it.
We are working on the last name now and he does all right just doesn't always remember how to spell it. He is also starting to read a little. Every time we come to a stop sign he says S T O P that says stop. Enough bragging about my boy who is getting very big.

Girl forks and boy forks

Can you tell which one is the girl fork and which is the boy (the fancier one is the girl fork). I wasn't aware until I had kids that forks had gender but my daughter has opened my eyes and she insists upon her having the girl fork. In fact the other day she got very upset because her brother had the girl fork and an argument ensued when he informed her there are no girl forks or boy forks just forks of course she disagreed. It will be interesting to see what other inanimate objects develop genders. We get to take Shilo to the doctor today and she is smiling now but she will be crying soon. She has to get shots

Miss Tude

We have a new girl her name is Miss Atty Tude a.k.a. Gracie. She will put her hands on her hips and give us the look when she is annoyed with us or she will stand like she is in the picture and say stuff like Mom stop it or your just teasing me. What can I say the girl cracks me up
Shilo is getting so big and so smiley we are always trying to get her to laugh and smile the smiling isn't hard but the laughter is rare.

stake conference and birthdays

Yesterday was stake Conferene and we had Gerald Lund come and speak neat guy. The night before at the adult session Jared suprised me with dinner before we had a gift certificate to GoodWood Barbecue very yummy and it would have been great if I hadn't left my diaper bag there which we had to go back for thereby making us late for the session. Oh well it was nice to have a date with my husband which he planned and even got a babysitter for I was very impressed. After Stake Conference which was interesting to go too with 4 kids by myself. We went to a birthday party for my dad's parents My Grandpa's is at the end of March and my Grandma's is at the end of April and since the are turning 95 and 85 ( Grandpa is the older one) We threw them a joint party it was fun for my kids to see all their cousins and everyone got to see how fat Shilo is getting I need to post a pic for everyone to see. All in all it was a good day and today we are getting some work done in the yard.

my little problem

We had the missionaries over for dinner last night I completly forgot that I had signed up wich is typical for me. Luckily the called in the morning to let me know so I had enough time to make somthing yummy and clean my house. We had Sunday stew bake, rolls and green beans and for dessert Apple crisp. Unfortunately there was no ice cream to go with the apple crisp but it still tasted yummy I ate too much of course and this caused my usual problem. Most of you probably don't know this about me but if I eat to much or eat too fast I throw up I don't know why and I am not Bulimic I just have to be careful and i burp alot I am always telling Jared that burping is better than the alternative. I usually have it under control so it doesnt' happen very often only a couple of times a year. It started when I was in the eighth grade. And no I don't feel naseous or anything. That is in a nutshell my little problem. I really thought that Emery was done getting to my baking supplies but Wednesday I found him mixing up the sugar and flour and dumping it on the floor he hasn't quit just got more creative. Maybe he will be my little baker that might be nice. It is time for me to be a tyrant and make my kids clean their room time to get the mean face on.

Pounds Away

I am trying to get motivated to lose the many extra pounds I have so my sister-in-law Charie has started a little program for all the many people in my family and hers who need to lose their chub. We are only required to lose a pound a week because their are some nursing mothers who can't lose more than that namely my sister-in-law her baby is super tiny as it is. So hopefully being held accountable will help me we will see. Yesterday we had a ward quilting day and the goal was to quilt 25 quilts so I went over during the day with my kids that was interesting and I went that evening as well I think we got pretty close to our goal. I sewed together to quilt tops before hand to help with the effort. It is maybe 50 degrees outside and my kids have got in their head that we should go swimming I don't know what they are thinking but it is cold and there is no way I am going swimming. We have been trying to get Emery interested in going pottty in the toilet not much luck yet but I have hopes that he will be potty-trained soon,

Skirts Anyone

Gracie has had this thing for skirts lately she wants to wear them all the time and if she has a choice between pants or a skirt she always picks skirts. Being surrounded by brothers has not made her into a tom boy. Gracie has also started referring to herself in the third person she is always Gracie wants this or Gracie needs that and it must be contagious because Harlan has started doing it too
Last week when we got home from church the baby was asleep so I left her in her carseat and while I was making a late lunch Emery was a little bit too quiet so I went on a little hunt and this is what I found. I thought was too cute and a good example of how much Emery loves his sister and won't leave her alone and gives her lots of slobber kisses.
So Jared really likes to have the kids walk on his back unfortunatley his back hurts alot so he is teaching them how to walk on it apparently it feels good. I remember doing the same thing for my dad.
Emery likes to give noogies even to his baby sister and it is so cute how he says the word we get the biggest kick out of it. Gracie got her hair cut by mommy who may have cut it alittle bit shorter than we wanted but it's hair it will grow and she says that she likes it. Her daddy does not quite agree but it is a little bit too late now. He is very anxious for it to grow again. I have to say that I enjoyed conference what I got to see of it I actually missed quite a bit thanks to crying kids,rambuntious kids,unexpected visitors,and exhaustion I may have felt asleep during one session but just one and I was really tired all of mu kids have been sick for a week. Unfortunately Jared had to work Saturday and Sunday and even had to miss half the Priesthood session while I took Harlan to the Quickcare for an ear infection he has been coughing and sniffling all week. Gracie Has been the worst as far as sickies go because she has woken up almost every night last week combine that with the baby waking up and coughing makes for alot of sleepless nights hopefully we will all be better this week so we can get out of the house and get some work done in the yard
